Chi-Square is a statistical test to understand the difference in values to judge how good of a fit there is between the expected and observed result.
The higher the chi-square value, the more of a difference there is between the two numbers.
This value will vary depending on your needs and your specific data, but generally a score of .05 or less is best and shows a level of significance.
If your chi-square does not exceed your critical value, or acceptance level, then the null hypothesis can be accepted.
This means the values are identical. Some may say it means the two variables are completely independent and there is no relationship between the two values.
