Believe it or not, human are made up of mostly water, typically around 70%. Water plays many major roles in the body, too many to list out. This is also why it is recommended that your water intake is sufficient daily.
If you want to up the amount of water in your body you can drink more or drink less caffeinated beverages. You can substitute in decaffeinated version of those beverages.
The body being made up of 70% water is a long-told piece of information that is not exactly accurate. Typically, men are closer to 60% water with women being even less.
A very common test to see how well your body is hydrated is to pinch a piece of skin on the back of your hand and lifting it up, then letting it go. If your skin does not retract back to the hand quickly you are likely dehydrated.
